We were asked if we could run a hen party drumming workshop at 10 am on a Sunday morning. We had our doubts about hangovers and drumming but our worries were soon proved wrong. When we arrived most of the party were ready to albeit looking a bit tired from a late night. There were a few who were still in bed so it was suggested that everyone could sneak upstairs and provide a samba alarm clock call. This was a very good idea.
Back in the workshop Jordan soon had everyone laughing with his brain teasing clapping and counting warm ups. After that the party picked up the drums and the real fun started. It was a pleasure to work with such an enthusiastic group as a complete piece was built up in a series of steps. After a break the group got back together to perform the full piece including several solos.
The two hours went past very quickly and by the end everyone was beaming and making comments like “I’ve got join a samba band”. It is our badly kept secret that drumming keeps you smiling. p.s. we know a local samba band who rehearse in Bristol.
Here’s some of the feedback:
“Had a workshop with these guys as part of a hen do and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!! Incredibly fun and a great change of pace!! Instructors were fantastic and really skilled – although we were all nursing hangovers they got us dancing around and creating some awesome music together!! ”
“BEST WORKSHOP EVER!!!!! I had the absolute best time ever at a workshop we had at a hen do this morning. So much fun. 2 hours of getting our rhythm on with a range of instruments. The team were so good – the energy was sky high! What a way to start the day. Thank you.”
